Crystal Lake Health Foods is a unique, independent natural foods store serving Crystal Lake and the greater McHenry County area since 1971.      The founder, Bob Edwards, a mechanical engineer by trade, developed an intense interest in nutrition after his dog developed epilepsy and diabetes. Putting into practice the concepts of health pioneers such as Adelle Davis and Betty Lee Morales, he helped his dog overcome these conditions and go on to live a long and healthy life. His commitment to the study and application of advanced nutrition built the foundation upon which our store now stands.      Over the years, we have seen interest in nutrition and good health blossom from a minority of people considered to be living "outside the norm" to the widespread acceptance and permanent status it enjoys today. Through all the growth that has occurred since then, we have always strived to offer our customers with the most accurate, honest information that we can provide. We read as much as possible in order to keep up with the most recent developments in this ever-expanding field, and we are constantly learning from all the people who come in and share their stories and health concerns with us.      Our commitment to this mission has earned us the trust and growing appreciation of our customers.
